What you´ll do at BTS

Working with the Principal Learning Strategist and the learning design team, you’ll craft a highly creative learning solution that is pedagogically sound and can add value to the customer’s business challenge. This includes:

  • Solution design – Designing engaging and impactful learning solutions
  • Writing (creative/persuasive)
  • Supporting our production team with execution
  • Client interaction – Guiding clients throughout the project and actively collaborating with them to design a solution that meets their needs.
  • Key deliverables/activities include: Design documents, Scripts, Collaboration with the production team, Client meetings

Location: Office is based in Toronto and candidates must reside within the Ontario or British Columbia provinces.

A Learning Experience Designer at BTS Digital is a utility player and a master at developing creative learning solutions that go beyond the traditional boundaries of instructional design. This is a role at the crossroads of where learning, technology and design intersect.

You are a designer/thinker at heart. You understand the corporate world, adult learners, the importance of discovery and the power of digital learning. From liaising directly with the client, to working with our in-house production team, to aligning with the vision of our strategic direction, you’ll wear many hats, but you will guide the vision of the innovative learning solutions you’ll be creating.

Your Critical Skills

  • You can (truly) solve learning challenges – You can confidently craft the right pedagogical solution that creates impact with an organization. (bonus: you can impact the business challenge as well)
  • You think like a designer – You understand the language of design. You are obsessed with the UX of things. Thinking in terms of UX/UI comes naturally to you. You are user-driven at all times, leading with empathy, and designing with purpose. 
  • You understand the digital world – You understand what a media-rich digital experience can be, and you can pair that with the right learning solution.
  • You’re highly creative – Fancy yourself a creative thinker? What sets us apart from the rest is our ability to build highly creative learning experiences. You are comfortable leading with creativity, while still solving the business challenge at hand.
  • You’re a prolific writer – Whether writing a design document or a module script, you’ll need to write. You know how to write for the digital medium, can be persuasive with clients, and can communicate effectively.
  • You’re a team player – We’re a highly collaborative team, so whether through ideation, giving/receiving feedback, or supporting the creative process, you have a critical role to play.

Specialist Skills (that would make you a Rockstar)

It’s ok if you don’t have these skills, but if you’ve got any of them, you’ll add tremendous value to our team:

  • ROI methodology – Can you help our customers build a plan to help them measure success? 
  • Knowledge of authoring tools – You won’t use them, but your knowledge of them will come in handy.
  • Data-driven design – We believe data is the future of learning design. We’ll need you to push the agenda with our solutions and our clients. 
  • Client-facing skills – You are comfortable and confident with clients. You know how to understand their needs and craft solutions to meet their challenges.
