Entry Project Manager/Team Leader(Coach Specialists Lead) 

BTS have a fantastic opportunity to join our busy European Operations team at Lead level. This vacancy will be based in Portsmouth and will report directly to the Portsmouth Operations Manager.

This role is for someone who is looking to take that next step in their career to project manage and lead a team.

The Role

No two days are the same as we coordinate and deploy the logistics for our programs to regional and global clients!  Service is key and the Europe Operations team are at the heart of our client success management. A fun team dynamic and attitude to work supports us to be at our best whilst delivering the highest service and results to our clients.

You will provide hands on leadership support on the execution of these programs, specifically focussing on our Coaching solutions. Working with multiple stakeholders to ensure each client project is run successfully, in time and on budget. Managing a specialist team, you will oversee the quality of our execution and help transform the service terms in line with new digital strategies.

Hours are generally between 9.00am to 5.30pm (UK) Monday to Friday, but some flexibility is required due to global client portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership

  • Lead the Coach Specialists Team 
    • Manage any Direct Reports, and those with indirect reporting lines assigned to specialism
    • Manage resourcing needs of specialist area to meet demands
    • Plan and deliver team development in line with functional plan
    • Monitor and address gaps in any KPI areas
    • Provide timely and effective feedback to team members
  • Provide leadership across area of specialism
    • Provide escalation support for any client risks or issues across their team, ensuring timely resolution
    • Keep up to date with the latest trends in area and innovations, where applicable.
    • Act as a thought leader on area of specialism
    • Input to Functional Strategy and collaborate with Heads of Practice or Region
    • Collaborate with other specialist leads, sharing relevant updates at business events & meetings
    • Identify and address opportunities for continuous improvement of BTS’ processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide logistical & project management support to Client Delivery Teams [globally]. This will involve, but not be limited to:
    • Advising Account Managers (AM) Consultants & Clients on the best and most effective execution plans for BTS solutions.
    • Owning project deliverables across large, Global, or complex clients; executing with high quality and responsiveness
    • Accurately maintaining BTS business critical information on assigned projects / tasks and BTS systems
    • Building strong client relationships with key stakeholders, acting as escalatory point for client delivery team members.  
    • Liaising and building relationships with 3rd party or external facilitator networks
    • Managing client SLA terms, responding to issues, and escalating to Operations Managers or Head of Function
    • Approving and launching new programmes via BTS digital systems (Changr, Coach OS, Momenta) or Client LMS
    • Monitoring support team achievement against engagement and/or quality delivery targets
    • Supporting the finance department with financials including forecasting, debt resolution and expenses validation
    • Partner closely with Digital Enablement to ensure solutions are fit for purpose, advising on best practice flags
    • Attend and contribute to sales pitches, or provide demos on new client opportunities and Pilot deliveries
    • Keep up to date with the latest trends in area, where applicable.
    • Act as a thought leader on area of expertise, contributing to internal projects & initiatives
    • Identify and address opportunities for continuous improvement of BTS’ processes.
  • Line Management (Direct Reports) & Account Leadership
    • Manage and support allocated Direct Reports
    • Plan and deliver team development in line with functional plan, including mentoring and project management coaching on accounts
    • Monitor and address gaps in KPI areas
    • Provide timely and effective feedback to team members

Who we are looking for:

  • An individual looking for a Leadership opportunity within Project Management
  • Proven project experience, ideally with supporting qualifications such as APM or Prince
  • Line management or small team leadership experience (2-3 people)
  • Experience in L&D or Training Sectors is desirable but not mandatory
  • Organised, analytical, and experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly pro-active; able to keep an eye on the long-term goals of a project and drive action
  • Strong communication, able to relay instructions and decisions clearly both verbally and in writing
  • To be able to demonstrate workload prioritization and delegation, able to get things back on track quickly
  • To be able to mentor direct reports and junior team members, furthering their development
  • A pragmatic thinker who looks for opportunities to improve existing processes, with the client and team at front of mind using data to make decisions that qualify & drive these
  • Constantly looks for opportunities to improve performance, seeks out feedback, and embodies BTS’ high standards and behaviours
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite is required (Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.)
  • A flexible attitude, unphased by unexpected change and ambiguity
  • A professional individual with a good sense of fun

Working Environment

Our UK Ops teams are in both London and Portsmouth. We may ask you to travel to either location for team days or events several times a year.

In London, our teams have returned to the London office in a hybrid setup, with the expectation to spend of 40-60% of your working time in our Hammersmith office. 

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Portsmouth team have shifted to working virtually from home for the time-being. You will be supplied with everything you need to work from home, such as laptop, screen/s, keyboard, mouse, webcam, headset.
