We currently seek a Director-level person for our office in Tokyo to support our fast-growing Japan business!

BTS is a consulting and leadership development company that helps organizations achieve tangible business results from their people development initiatives. We provide experiential learning-based experiences and believe strongly in the idea of having people convince themselves that they need to do things differently when their organization needs them to change their behaviours in a certain context. The tools we create and use – business simulations, scenario simulations, engage maps, boards, digital technology etc. – allow participants to make decisions, understand the consequences, and experience the results as they would in their job.

What you will do at BTS

At BTS, we turn our clients’ ideas and strategies into results. We do this by designing customized learning experiences that drive innovation, alignment, new behaviors, and performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a strategy for obtaining a significant market share in strategy, transformation, and leadership/culture activities.

  • Earn the role of trusted advisor for executives at major corporations across industries

  • Enable clients’ leaders to execute their vision and strategies through BTS solutions

  • Demonstrate and communicate the philosophy of BTS solutions

  • Bring new customers to BTS

  • Design and facilitate custom learning journeys/development initiatives/workshops

  • Lead others to operate with a client success/results mindset

  • Work collaboratively with team members to grow the business

  • Coach, recruit and develop others to expand talent in the organization

Who we are looking for

Summary of needs:

  • Executive presence and the ability to sell a vision

  • Ability to lead and drive new sales

  • Proven ability to understand client challenges and formulate solutions.

  • Work across BTS regional units and practices to ensure collaboration

  • Ability to lead people and manage processes, internal and external

Ideal Candidates will have:

  • Experience leading or guiding large clients through learning and development processes

  • Experience managing a team and managing multiple office processes (e.g. hiring, on-boarding, ERP and CRM management, etc)

  • Business-to-business sales experience, including sales management experience

  • Experience partnering with large and small companies in a variety of industries

  • Strong client relationships in Japan, with proven sales success on large opportunities and a consistent track record

  • Master's degree, preferred with an MBA or advanced similar degree

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels

  • Native Japanese and fluent in English

  • Mature, humble, professional, hands-on team player
